Literacy & Numeracy

Literacy and numeracy are
never the problem.

Literacy and numeracy struggles are the symptom of a much deeper issue, and we need to understand what that issue is, in order to correct these struggles.

Believing that literacy or numeracy are the problem is no different than believing that walking is the problem for someone whose leg is broken. broken leg

Struggles with literacy and numeracy are a functional issue ie: something has gone wrong and the person is unable to perform these tasks.

These struggles are not educational, regardless of what we may have been led to believe. No one can be taught out of these struggles; instead, a specific type of therapy is required.

And its not only literacy and numeracy people struggle with. They will also be struggling in other areas of life as well.

In order for anyone to overcome these struggles, the cause of their difficulties needs to be treated. Ideas that people 'learn differently' are just ideas and are not actually real or true. Unfortunately, attempting to address literacy & numeracy issues on the basis of such imaginings, only ever maintains the underlying dysfunction and does nothing to address it.

No one needs to be made to
repeatedly practice the
very things they have
already demonstrated
they cannot do.
